Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
For life’s little adventures..
Travel insurance becomes even more important if you have a pre-existing medical condition because medical and repatriation costs can run into the millions. We do understand that finding insurance that covers your conditions can be a stressful and expensive experience, so we’re working with Just Travel Cover to bring you a Defaqto 5 Star travel insurance with no upper age limits for single trips that also specialises in helping people with medical conditions.
We’ve worked hard to make it as easy as possible for you to get a quote. You can get a quote online, and we are available on the phone to give you a quote if you’d prefer to discuss your needs over the phone.
Our Cover levels
We’re proud that our selected travel insurance provider has been given a 5 Star Defaqto rating. Each of our policies include 19 different areas of cover as standard, and you have the opportunity to select the excess you wish to pay and the level of cover you want by choosing between our Bronze, Silver or Gold policies.
The Gold cover would provide you with:
- Medical and Repatriation up to £15 million
- Cancellation cover up to £50,000
- Baggage cover up to £3,000
- Personal Liability cover up to £2 million
- Travel Delay up to £350
Why choose cover through our selected travel provider?
- No upper age limits for single trip policies
- Award winning claims service
- All pre-existing medical conditions considered
- Cruise and winter sports cover available
Purchase your insurance as early as you can
You shouldn’t leave it too late to purchase your insurance as you can’t predict when something unfortunate may happen that would result in you having to cancel your holiday. When you choose a single trip policy your cover for cancellation would start the moment you purchase.
How do I get a quote?
If you’re getting a quote for a single trip, you’ll need to provide some details about the holiday such as the destination, dates and other travellers you want included on the policy. You’ll then be asked 6 Yes/No questions to establish whether you have a medical condition that needs to be specified. If you answer yes to any of these questions we’ll need a few more details, but in almost every case we’re able to provide a quote straight away.
- All pre-existing medical conditions considered, including terminal conditions
- No Doctor’s certificate required to purchase
- We don’t need to know the names of your medication
We understand that it can be uncomfortable discussing your condition, but we do require to be notified so we can protect you from any medical costs you might incur abroad. Our agents are highly trained to make the process as smooth and respectful as possible.
Policy limits and exclusions may apply, please see policy wording for full terms and conditions.
European Health Insurance Card EHIC
When travelling within the European Union you should always carry your EHIC card with you. It should help you to get reduced cost or even free medical attention, however it might not cover all of your care – and certainly wouldn’t cover the cost of repatriation if you needed to be flown back to the UK because of an accident or illness. The EHIC would entitle you to be treated in the same way as a local, so in countries where medical attention isn’t free, you would still incur the cost.
The European Health Insurance Card (or EHIC) is issued free of charge and allows anyone who is insured by or covered by a statutory social security scheme of the EEA countries and Switzerland to receive medical treatment in another member state free or at a reduced cost, if that treatment becomes necessary during your visit (for example, due to illness or an accident), or if you have a chronic pre-existing condition which requires care such as kidney dialysis. The term of validity of the card varies according to the issuing country.
You can apply for or renew a UK EHIC online before travelling at www.nhs.uk/ehic or call the NHS Business Services Authority on (+44) 300 330 1350
