Single Trip Cover

For life’s little adventures..

Wherever you are travelling to, and however long you are going away for you should never overlook the importance of purchasing travel insurance. Although it’s likely your holiday will run smoothly it’s worth protecting yourself from any unpleasant surprises.

A single trip policy may be suitable whether you’re planning a stay in the UK or planning on venturing further afield. If you’re likely to go on more than one holiday in the year, it may be worth you getting a quote for an annual policy which could save you money overall.

Types of Cover

We’re proud that our selected travel insurance provider has been given a 5 Star Defaqto rating for their policies. The travel insurance includes 20 different areas of cover as standard, and you have the opportunity to select the excess you pay and the level of cover you want by choosing between our Bronze, Silver or Gold policies.

The Gold cover would provide you with:

  • Medical and Repatriation up to £15 million
  • Cancellation cover up to £50,000
  • Baggage cover up to £3,000
  • Personal Liability cover up to £2 million

Purchase your insurance as early as you can

You should consider purchasing your insurance as soon as you can after booking your holiday. Doing so would provide you with cancellation cover that would start from the moment you purchase your policy, protecting you from financial loss if you had to cancel your holiday.

Cover for Medical Conditions

If you find yourself in hospital abroad following an accident or a sudden turn in health your treatment could be extraordinarily expensive. Investing in a travel insurance policy would help protect you against these unwanted costs.

European Health Insurance Card EHIC

When travelling within the European Union you should always carry your EHIC card with you. It should help you to get reduced cost or even free medical attention, however it might not cover all of your care – and certainly wouldn’t cover the cost of repatriation if you needed to be flown back to the UK because of an accident or illness. The EHIC would entitle you to be treated in the same way as a local, so in countries where medical attention isn’t free, you would still incur the cost.

The European Health Insurance Card (or EHIC) is issued free of charge and allows anyone who is insured by or covered by a statutory social security scheme of the EEA countries and Switzerland to receive medical treatment in another member state free or at a reduced cost, if that treatment becomes necessary during your visit (for example, due to illness or an accident), or if you have a chronic pre-existing condition which requires care such as kidney dialysis. The term of validity of the card varies according to the issuing country.

You can apply for or renew a UK EHIC online before travelling at www.nhs.uk/ehic or call the NHS Business Services Authority on (+44) 300 330 1350
